For the last three years I've been living in Lompoc, California, a somewhat small but unique town on the California Central Coast. I moved here from another small town in Ohio to attend Brooks Institute, which, at the time, was located in Santa Barbara.
I have always been intrigued small towns. These microcosms of human culture can be very interesting. They all have their own unique personality. Many residents have a strong civic pride that can be seen throughout the town. While living in a small town can be a quiet and peaceful existence the towns have their share of troubles as well.
These photographs show both the good and the bad of small town life.
